Of the two types of termites in our area, subterranean are the most common. There are two ways to deal with them – bait and chemicals. Baiting is the process of installing stations around the perimeter of your home with bait that contains an insect growth regulator. Termites eat this bait and take it back to the nest to feed to the queen and her young. By doing this, the entire colony can be eliminated. The system we use is call Sentricon.
Chemical treatment can take several forms – trenching the soil, drilling through concrete and injecting, spraying under raised foundation homes, injecting into wall voids, and foaming. We have several chemicals at our disposal including Termidor, Altriset, Termidor Dry, and Premise Foam. These chemicals all work in different ways, but do the same thing – kill termites.
